G.F. Jerry Walsh retired in 1988 as Executive Director of Mt. Olivet Rolling Acres, a residence for seventy children and adults with mental retardation. Since then he has been a consultant to several nonprofit organizations. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Science degree from the University of Minnesota, Mankato. Walsh is a member of the Marine Corps Coordinating Council of Minnesota and a life member of the Second Marine Division Association. Walsch landed on D-Day, June 15, 1944, on Saipan, where, with the first Battalion, Twenty-ninth Regiment, he participated in the conquest of Mt. Tapotchau. He also saw action on Guadalcanal and Tarawa.
